“This
book is devoted to the message of
Fatima, to social reconstruction, and to attainment of the promised Era of Peace. It initiates a
multi-volume journey into the Church's social doctrine by first unpacking the
deepest of its principles, the one that is ancillary to everything else, the
one which John Paul II stated, is “the proper starting point of the social
question” viz., the mystery, dignity and nature of the human person, of man and
woman made in the image and likeness of God.
In this regard, shortly before his retirement, Pope Benedict called for
an inspired “new humanism” to meet the challenges of a desacralized world. This
book provides an inspired new humanism based on man and woman being me in the
image of God, what the Dr. Marzak appropriately refers to as “Trinitarian Humanism”, as the first step
toward the renewal of Christendom on the ancient foundation laid by Christ and
the work of great men and women who have gone before us marked with the sign of
faith.”
